With Tom Cruise, Kelly McGillis, Val Kilmer, and Anthony Edwards As students at the United States Navy's elite fighter weapons school compete to be best in the world, Edwardss role as LTJG Nick "Goose" Bradshaw alongside Tom Cruise in the 1986 film Top Gun brought his first widespread public acknowledgement.
Top Gun is a 1986 American action drama film directed by Tony Scott and produced by Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer with distribution by Paramount Pictures. The screenplay was written by Jim Cash and Jack Epps Jr., from a story by Bruckheimer and Simpson.
As Cruise rode Top Gun 1986 into the Hollywood stratosphere, Edwards also found his flight to stardom at the same time. After Top Gun 1986, he reprised his role as Gilbert in the movie.
