Wayne Rooney's men chasing first win of the season

Wayne Rooney's D.C. United will be looking to claim their first win of the 2023 Major League Soccer (MLS) regular season when they host New York City at Audi Field on Saturday.

D.C. United played out a disappointing 3-3 draw at home to FC Cincinnati in their season opener last weekend, despite twice taking the lead.

They led 3-2 in the 90th minute but a last-gasp equaliser from Brandon Vazquez denied Rooney's men all three points.

New York City, meanwhile, got their campaign off to a winning start with a 2-0 victory over Nashville at home.

Goals from Talles Magno and Heber sealed a comfortable three points for the visitors.
